BE INSPIRED
For over 30 years, we have been exploring, educating, inspiring, advocating and dreaming. BAE' focus is creating access for girls to the leadership lessons we learned while crossing the polar ice caps. That historic, 1,717-mile journey ignited a global dialogue—now amplified by 8 women, on 7 continents, over 12 years. We are creating a platform for girls and women’ voices to be heard so that these future leaders are not only shattering stereotypes, but writing themselves into history.

JiaoJiao Hu is cofounder of Polar Hub alongside her husband, Wen Xu. They mix exploration and science by mapping glaciers for future history by taking ice core samples of the world.
2001 | Norwegian Liv Arnesen and American Ann Bancroft become the first women in history to sail and ski across Antarctica’s landmass — completing a 94-day, 1,717-mile (2,747 km) trek.
2015 - 2016
Embarking on the Access Water | India | Ganges River journey in 2015 was a powerful learning experience as we invested in an international team of 6 women from 6 continents to share the journey from the source to the Sea of Bengal. We explored villages along the river banks, cultures, complexities and listened to students. We learned the culture and complexities from Krushnaa Patil, our Indian Team Member, outspoken and passionate, who channels the same determination that led her to be the youngest Indian to summit Mt. Everest to now address environmental issues and inspire Indian girls to become leaders and create change.

2017 - 2018
This past fall we launched Access Water | North America | Mississippi River,
a 15-month project, which culminates in a 60-day journey from the source of the
Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico, Fall 2018. We invited the Access Water Team for
a 2-week visit which began at Diamond A Farm, a fourth generation, women-owned
& operated farm outside St. Cloud with women state representatives from the
Department of Health, Agriculture and Pollution Control agencies along with artists,
students and farmers to discuss water. Our team shared stories from their countries
and it was a powerful introduction to the important role Minnesota has as the keeper
of the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

Access Water is our current and most ambitious initiative. Through experiential
education programs and storytelling—a major waterway on each continent—
BAE Access Water will engage and empower girls to make a difference in their
communities by raising awareness to the issues and the connections we share
around the world.
